The minister has provided the following reply - (1) Some research on control techniques has been carried out on the Airlie Island nature reserve by the Kings Park Botanic Gardens and Parks Authority. However, appropriate techniques are yet to be fully developed and implemented in the field. (2) The department will consider the situation on a case-by-case basis.
