I refer to additional funding used to support retention of police in the South West, Great Southern and Wheatbelt communities and ask: (a) What is the status of these funds and the funding commitment; (b) Can the Minister list police stations in the SW, Great Southern and Wheatbelt that are under full complement of sworn officers; (c) Can the Minister outline the staff retention strategies utilised by the McGowan Government to maintain the full complement of sworn officers in these communities; (d) Are any Royalties for Regions funds being used to assist with staff retention in these communities; and (e) What is the current status of the previously allocated Royalties for Regions funds into these communities for staff retention?

(a) The Police Regional Incentive Scheme, which is funded by Royalties for Regions, continues to be funded. Under the former Liberal-National Government, the Scheme was scheduled to end at 30 June 2017.
(b) Of the sixty three stations in the Great Southern, South West and Wheatbelt Police Districts, the Western Australia Police Force advise that as at 26 April 2019 three stations in the Great Southern Police District, one station in the South West Police District and two stations in the Wheatbelt Police District did not have the full complement of sworn officers. Due to operational sensitivities, the Western Australia Police Force do not release specific information relating to staffing levels at individual police stations.
(c) In addition to the Police Regional Incentive Scheme, free rent is provided 55 police stations and 12 multi-function police stations.
(d) Retention payments in eligible locations are funded through the Police Regional Incentive Scheme
(e) The Police Regional Incentive Scheme, which is funded by Royalties for Regions, continues to be funded.
