(a) what is the required professional fire-fighting and prevention personnel roster for Rottnest Island;
(b) since September 2008, for what periods has the required roster level not been met;
(c) to whom are fire-fighting and prevention services contracted out to on Rottnest Island, what costs are involved and who pays for these costs; and
(d) what role does the Fire and Emergency Services Authority undertake in relation to Rottnest Island?

The Fire and Emergency Services Authority of Western Australia (FESA) advises:
(a) Refer to Rottnest Island Authority (RIA).
(b) Refer to Rottnest Island Authority.
(c) Refer to Rottnest Island Authority.
(d) In January 2008 FESA entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with RIA to provide advice on fire and emergency related matters and training issues on a cost recovery basis. In addition FESA provides support for emergency operations to the island including for example aerial suppression for a bushfire and assistance for storm damage.
