MINISTER FOR EDUCATION AND TRAINING—RELATIONSHIP WITH FORMER PREMIER BRIAN BURKE
I refer the minister to his statement during debate on 21 November 2007, in which the minister sought to rebut suggestions that he had any beneficial relationship with former Premier Brian Burke by informing us that Mr Burke had assisted the minister’s opponent at the last election, and that was the truth of the matter. (1) Did the minister’s 2005 election campaign also receive assistance from Mr Burke, either financial or in kind? (2) If so, will the minister provide details of the assistance provided? (3) If the minister received assistance from Mr Burke, why did the minister not disclose that during his speech, and why did the minister mislead Parliament by suggesting that Mr Burke was his political opponent rather than his helper? Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH
