Dandaragan Primary School (DPS) received its first Kindergarten students in February 2003. Western Australian Education Department officials proposed that these children would be catered for, however no extra resources, both human and capital, have been provided to deal with the increase in students. DPS currently has 83 students and three classrooms -
(1) Why hasn’t the Education Department responded to the increase in student numbers with an increase in -
(a) infrastructure and capital resources to DPS; and
(b) staffing?
(2) What rationale is driving the Department officials’ decision not to increase the level of DPS’ human and capital resources?
(3) The number of children in two of the classrooms currently contravenes the Government School Teacher’s and School Administrators Certified Agreement 2000. With this in mind, is the Education Department Education providing any additional support to DPS teachers?
