619. Hon AMBER-JADE SANDERSON to the parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
(1) How many
operating theatres are currently operating as part of the South Metropolitan
Area Health Service and where are these theatres based?
(2) How many
operating theatres will exist under the reconfigured SMAHS once Fiona Stanley
Hospital opens, and where will they be based?

question.
(1) There are
41 operating theatres in operation, based at the following locations: Armadale–Kelmscott
Memorial Hospital, five operating theatres; Bentley Hospital, three operating
theatres; Fremantle Hospital, eight operating theatres; Kaleeya Hospital, five
operating theatres; Rockingham General Hospital, four operating theatres; Royal
Perth Hospital, 13 operating theatres; and Shenton Park Campus, three operating
theatres.
(2) There will
be 50 operating theatres based at the following locations: Armadale–Kelmscott
Memorial Hospital, five operating theatres; Bentley Hospital, two operating
theatres; Fiona Stanley Hospital, 16 operating theatres, one obstetric theatre
and three shelled theatres; Fremantle Hospital, six operating theatres;
Rockingham General Hospital, four operating theatres; and Royal Perth Hospital,
13 operating theatres.
