1. & 2. All twelve licence holders in the Cockburn Sound Crab Managed Fishery had their fees waived in the 2007 and 2008 licensing years. However, it is important to note that commercial fishers have 60 days to renew their licence but may not fish until the licence fee is paid (s.139 of the
Fish Resources Management Act 1994
). Regulation 181 of the
Fish Resources Management Regulations 1995
provides that a fee may be waived or reduced. Where a fee is waived, the licence is renewed without the payment of a fee as the fee becomes zero.
