PAEDIATRIC SERVICES —
STAFF
996. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the article in The
West Australian titled ''Amber Jade Sanderson says paediatrics is 'emotionally
draining', as WA tries to recruit more child specialists'',
dated 27 August 2024, which states —
the Government had put in a range
of measures to meet increased child development demand, including funding
almost 100 extra staffing positions in the last budget. Of those, 48 have been
filled.
(1) Can the
minister provide a breakdown of the 48 staffing positions that have been
filled, by position and full-time equivalent?
(2) When are the remaining
positions expected to be filled?

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following has been provided by the Minister
for Health.
(1)–(2) The
breakdown is as follows. For clinical positions it is 31.2 FTEs; for clinical
administration, 10.1 FTEs; and for non-clinical support roles, 6.9 FTEs.
