I refer to the answer given to question on notice 3683 regarding the student services and amenities fee and, in particular, the answer provided to question (3) which states that the ‘number of students who choose to pay the amenities and services fee will not be known until after 31 August 2006, the census date for semester two’. Given that the census date has now passed, I ask -
(1) Will the Minister advise how many continuing students (i.e. those students not enrolling for the first time in semester two) have been charged the above fee in semester two at the following universities -
(a) University of Western Australia;
(b) Murdoch University;
(c) Curtin University of Technology; and
(d) Edith Cowan University?
(2) How many students, who have enrolled for the first time in semester two, have chosen to pay the amenities and services fee at each of the universities referred to in (1)?
(3) How much income has been received by each of the universities referred to in (1), through the collection of these fees in semester two?
