I refer to the Rail, Tram and Bus Union survey report of C-series train drivers, page 43, in which Driver 74 states, "I felt pressured into signing my training off", and I ask: (a) during initial training for the C-series trains, were drivers expected to undergo and pass a test to demonstrate the training was effective; (b) if yes to (a), what was the test and what was the criteria for success; (c) if yes to (a), was there a percentage pass/fail mark required, and if so, what was it; and (d) what is the driver referring to in relation to "signing off" training? Is this a self assessment process?

(a)  Yes.
(b)  Theory and assessment consistent with PTA’s Railcar Vocational Educational Training (VET) requirements.
(c)   100 per cent.
(d)  This comment appears to be a reference to the need for drivers to attain route knowledge with respect to new or modified parts of the urban rail network and not specifically in relation to C series training. However, the PTA must ensure Drivers are competent in operating C series railcars in passenger service. Should Drivers not feel comfortable with this requirement then additional training is arranged.
