The total program allocation by the Department of Education and Training for the fundamental movement skills program and professional learning program to support years 4 to 7 physical activity resources in district schools is $725 000 for 2006-07. Crunch & Sip has received $50 000 for 2006-07 from the Department of Health. From the Department of Sport and Recreation, Sportsfun has received $20 000, Sportsfun Across Generations has received $54 000, junior sport development days have received $12 500, the Expand and Support Youth Physical Activity Advisory Committees have received $17 000 and the dance leader program has received $30 000 for 2006-07. The Physical Activity Taskforce allocated approximately $400 000 for research conducted into children’s physical activity and nutrition in 2003.
