I ask the Minister to clarify apparent discrepancies between the Public Sector Commissioner, Mr Mal Wauchope’s, report concerning an employee of both Tourism Western Australia and the One Movement music festival, Ms Saskia Doherty:
(a) is the Minister aware that Mr Wauchope stated that Ms Doherty was reinstated to her former position as Event Development Manager after a formal process that concluded on 15 September 2009;
(b) is the Minister aware that the only positions advertised around that time by Tourism Western Australia were for Manager Event Development (2 positions), one a Level 5 and one a Level 6 with a closing date of 7 August 2009;
(c) why were the titles and closing dates different;
(d) what title and what level was the position Ms Doherty applied for;
(e) what title and what level was the position Ms Doherty was appointed to;
(f) was the appointment of Ms Doherty questioned or appealed by unsuccessful applicants; and
(g) was the person acting in the position during Ms Doherty’s absence awarded the other position and, if so, was that decision questioned?

(a) As opposed to being reinstated, Ms Doherty was re-employed by Tourism WA in the role of Event Development Manager, following an open and competitive recruitment and selection process undertaken in accordance with public sector requirements, in which she was found to be the preferred applicant.
