refer to the answer to Question on Notice No 3409, and ask has the Minister taken steps to
reduce the level of unauthorised credit card use in each department considering
the practice has increased in each of the past three years, and if yes: (a) What
measures did the Minister take to address the unauthorised use of credit cards; and (b) Have
any credit cards been withdrawn because of unauthorised use: (i) When
were they withdrawn; (ii) From
which departments were the credit cards withdrawn; and (iii) Why were they withdrawn?

(a) Yes. The Department undertook a full review of all departmental credit cards in 2017-18 and cancelled/withdrew unused and unrequired cards and only re-issued new Departmental purchase cards based on business requirements.
