WHEATBELT REGIONAL INVESTMENT BLUEPRINT
504. Hon DARREN WEST to the parliamentary
secretary representing the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to the advertised launch of
the wheatbelt regional investment blueprint.
(1) Given that a
number of people were invited to attend the launch of the blueprint at a
breakfast held on Friday, 11 April, why was the blueprint not released at that
event?
(2) When will the blueprint be
released?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The Minister
for Regional Development is reviewing and providing feedback on all draft
regional investment blueprints prior to release for public comment. As at 11 April
2014, feedback on the draft wheatbelt regional investment blueprint was not
finalised.
(2) The draft
wheatbelt regional investment blueprint will be released for public comment on
23 May 2014.
Hon Sue Ellery : Why did you have a launch, then?
Hon COL HOLT : It was a draft. It was about
promoting the opportunity to look into the draft. People should have looked at
their invitation.
Several members interjected.
The PRESIDENT : Order, members! You are taking up
your own question time. I have noted that Hon Sally Talbot has indicated that she has another question.
Distinguished
Visitor — Murray Nixon Statement
The PRESIDENT : While everybody settles down, I
would like to acknowledge in the President's gallery Murray Nixon, who
is a former member of this chamber.
