(2 & 3) Virtually all of the Canning Bridge bus interchange and Kwinana Freeway bus lane infrastructure will be incorporated in the South West Metropolitan rail line. The interchange will be adapted to a rail/bus facility and the bus lanes will provide ideal framework for the rail lines. In addition, work on the bus lane contract was so advanced that cancelling it would not have brought any significant savings. (4) Some alterations will be required to accomodate the railway. For example, modifications will be required to accomodate a rail platform at the Canning Bridge Interchange. (5) This will be determind during the Supplementary Master Plan process. (6) Yes, but it was not considered to be in the public interest. (7) Not Applicable.
