I refer to the Drug and Alcohol Interagency Strategic Framework for Western Australia 2011-2015, and I ask -
(1) Has a review been completed in relation to the number of police needed to implement the strategy of focusing frontline policing, including high visibility in and around licensed outlets?
(2) How many police will be needed for the exercise?
(3) From where will those police be sourced?
(4) How many licensed outlets will be targeted?
(5) Where are these outlets situated?
(6) How much funding has been allocated to this strategy over the forward estimates?

(1) No. This is core business for police officers in Metropolitan and Regional Western Australia and the Liquor Enforcement Unit.
(2) Normal core business. Officers are drawn from existing resources.
(3) From the Liquor Enforcement Unit and districts.
(4) Problematic licensed premises will be targeted and these are identified by operational intelligence. It is not possible to specify how many outlets will be targeted until the intelligence is analysed.
(5) This will depend on the intelligence gathered and the evidence of harm available.
(6) No additional funding. The strategy is funded through existing resources.
