(1) Will the Minister please table all audits, inspection reports, and compliance assessments undertaken at the Boyanup Saleyards since 1 January 2018, specifying for each: (a) the date conducted; (b) the agency or authority responsible; and (c) the purpose or scope of the assessment, including but not limited to: (i) animal welfare inspections; (ii) occupational health and safety inspections; (iii) environmental or wastewater management audits; and (iv) infrastructure or asset condition assessments? (2) Will the Minister please table any breaches, non-compliances, or recommendations for corrective action that have been identified in relation to the Boyanup Saleyards in the period since 1 January 2018, including: (a) the nature of each breach or recommendation; (b) the date identified; and (c) what remedial actions were taken and when? (3) What is the current licence or approval arrangement under which the Boyanup Saleyards operates, including the expiry date of any lease, permit, or environmental approval? (4) Are there any current conditions of this lease in (3)? (5) In reference to (4), have any conditions been added or removed from the previous lease? (6) Has the State Government or the Shire of Capel undertaken any consultation or planning for the relocation, redevelopment, or closure of the Boyanup Saleyards? (7) If yes to (6), please provide details including dates, parties consulted, and any associated reports or feasibility studies? (8) What corrective measures have been enacted to address welfare concerns raised by members of the public regarding the adequacy of shade cover, density of pens, access to clean water and yard surfaces at the Boyanup Saleyards?

(1)-(2) The Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development (DPIRD) responsibilities at the Boyanup Saleyards are limited to animal welfare compliance. DPIRD doesn’t keep records on behalf of other agencies with regards to occupational health and safety, environmental, wastewater management, infrastructure, or asset condition assessment. These should be referred to the appropriate agency.
Information prior to 21 September 2021 is not readily available and would require significant manual resources and time to collate and prepare, which would divert staff away from their normal duties. It is not considered to be a reasonable or appropriate use of government resources to provide this level of information.
The below table summarises inspections at the Boyanup Saleyards from 21 September 2021. The records of inspections undertaken prior to that date are not readily accessible.
