refer to the State Records Office, and ask, has the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural
Industries got a timeline for the appointment of a new Director, State
Recordkeeping, and: (a) When
will the appointment be announced; (b) Will
the position continue to carry the same employment level; (c) Will
the duties, responsibilities and functions of the role be the same as those
undertaken by the previous Director; and (d) If
not, why not?

Section 70 of the State Records Act 2000 prescribes that there is to be an office in the Public Service called the Director of State Records or by such other name as the Minister from time to time directs. The currently occupied position of Director of State Records is named State Archivist and Executive Director State Records.
The Director of State Records functions are prescribed in Section 73 of the State Records Act 2000 . The Director’s right to access government records are prescribed at Section 74 of the Act. The Director’s contractual powers are prescribed at Section 75.
