''SWAN CANNING
RIVER PROTECTION STRATEGY'' — ACTIVITY NODES
677. Hon ALISON XAMON to the Minister for Environment:
I
refer to the ''Swan Canning River Protection Strategy'',
specifically the proposed 19 activity nodes in the river park.
(1) Have these activity nodes been
identified?
(2) If yes to
(1), can the minister please table a list of the nodes, including their
location and the types of activities anticipated at each node?
(3) If no to (1), when does the
minister anticipate that these nodes will be identified?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) The ''Swan
Canning River Protection Strategy'' does not propose to identify 19
activity nodes. Action 18.1 relates to the identification of appropriate nodes
for commercial opportunities in the Swan Canning Riverpark. The locations of
these nodes have not yet been identified.
(2) Not applicable.
(3) The location
of activity nodes will be considered through precinct plans prepared in
accordance with state planning policies. These precinct plans will be developed
over the life of the river protection strategy. I am pleased to advise that the
Perth water precinct planning process has commenced as a priority.
