FORCED ADOPTIONS
769. Ms M.J. DAVIES to the Minister for Child Protection:
I have a supplementary question. To
be clear: is the minister ruling out an inquiry as requested by survivors and
that the petition tabled by one of the government's own members in the
Legislative Council clearly called for?

I
do not support an inquiry because I do not think it will give us anything new
or that we do not already know about the specific requests put by
advocates. They have already been well canvassed in an investigation by the
federal Senate and in the Victorian inquiry as well.
