In respect of plans for redevelopment of the former Maylands police academy site, will the minister set a firm date for the promised public consultation period to commence? Hon G.T. GIFFARD

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the member for some notice of this question.  The Maylands police academy site was the subject of a proposed major amendment, No 1018/33, to the metropolitan region scheme.  It proposed to partially rezone the site from a public purpose reserve to an urban zone.  The amendment was initiated last year but is yet to be advertised for public submissions.  The Government intends to consider the appropriateness of this plan and will undertake community consultation concerning the site before proceeding with the MRS amendment.
