I refer to the Corruption and Crime Commission's (CCC) annual report into WA Police's compliance with the Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 , dated 2 May 2025, and I ask: (a) is the Minister aware that the CCC has found that "compared to previous reporting periods, WA Police have demonstrated decreased compliance; (b) will you table, either in unredacted or redacted form, the more than 30 letters received by WA Police identifying significant issues of concern; (c) has the Minister been briefed about these incidents of non-compliance; (d) if yes to (c), what is the explanation for these breaches by WA Police; and (e) if no to (b) or (c), why not?

(d) The Corruption and Crime Commission’s Annual Report identified areas for improvement in WA Police Force’s recordkeeping and administrative compliance under the Criminal Investigation (Covert Powers) Act 2012 . The WA Police Force has implemented robust legal and procedural reforms to improve quality assurance and recordkeeping. The CCC has acknowledged the agency’s positive engagement, particularly the role of the Special Operations Applications Unit, and expressed confidence in WA Police Force’s commitment to improved compliance.
(e) The letters from the CCC to the WAPF contain sensitive intelligence and information pertaining to covert operations and are not suitable for public consumption.
