I refer to Estimates Committee B on Thursday 23 May 2019, and note the Minister's commitment to the provision of quarterly statistics in relation to the prison population, and ask: (a) When will the statistics the Minister referred to be made public; (b) Will the statistics be backdated to when the Minister stopped publishing them: (i) If not, why not; and (c) Will the Minister make a commitment to publish them on a quarterly basis: (i) If not, why not?

(a) Corrective Services statistics for the March 2019 quarter were published on the Department’s website on 9 July 2019.
(b) As the Minister for Corrective Services I have not ordered the cessation of publication of statistics, however I have now ordered the Department to recommence their publication. The published statistics have been backdated for the June 2017 to December 2018 quarters.
