As I understand it, the Deputy
Leader of the Liberal Party is asking me about a draft policy released by the
EPA three months ago that it withdrew a few days later. Is that correct? Yes,
it is correct. To the best of my knowledge, I had a high-level briefing with Mr
Hatton.
Mr W.R. Marmion : When?
Mr M. McGOWAN : A few days
beforehand. I have answered all these questions before.
I had a high-level briefing with Mr
Hatton a few days before about the broad issue and then the EPA released a draft
document. Obviously, that document was then withdrawn a few days after that.
Honestly, that is the best the Deputy Leader can do.
Mr D.T. Redman interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Warren–Blackwood!
Mr M. McGOWAN : These
questions have been answered. Go and read them. This is the new bodyguard of
the Leader of the Opposition, the Kevin Costner of Parliament. The best that
Kevin Costner of Parliament can do is ask me a question about a draft document
that was withdrawn three months ago.
Mr D.T. Redman interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Warren–Blackwood. It was quiet when you went home last night.
Mr M. McGOWAN : It is pretty
hopeless that that is the best the member can do.
