For each of the following financial years 2007–2008, 2008–2009, 2009–2010, 2010–2011, 2011–2012 and 2012–2013: (a) how many claims were made under the Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943 and what was the total value; (b) how many of the claims were for vehicles that were unlicensed; (c) how many claims were paid out and what was the total value; (d) how many claims paid out were for unlicensed vehicles and what was the value; (e) how many claims did the Commission seek to recoup the payout from a driver or other person and what was the value; and (f) how many of the claims the Commission sought to recoup were because the vehicle was unlicensed, and what was the value?

(a) The number of claims received under the Motor Vehicle (Third Party Insurance) Act 1943 and the total value of the claims for the financial years 2007-2008, 2008-2009, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 are presented in the attached table. The total paid for the 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 financial years in particular will increase as claims for accidents in those years continue to be made and as settlement negotiations on outstanding claims are completed [see tabled paper no. ].
(b) The number of claims received that involved an unlicensed vehicle where the driver was at-fault in each year between 2007-2008 and 2012-2013 is listed in the attached [see tabled paper no. ].
(c) The number of claims paid and the total value of those claims for each year between 2007-2008 and 2012-2013 are listed in the attached table [see tabled paper no. ]. The number of claims and the total paid will increase in the coming years as claims are finalised.
(d) The number of claims and amounts paid where the at-fault driver was driving an unlicensed vehicle for each year between 2007-2008 and 2012-2013 are listed in the attached table [see tabled paper no. ].
