SHIRE OF MEEKATHARRA —
AFTER-SCHOOL CARE — CLOSURE
771. Ms M. BEARD to the Minister for Youth:
I have a supplementary question. I thank
the minister for answering that. Does the minister acknowledge what is
happening in the regions at the moment and plan for additional resources to be
included for some of the local governments that are struggling to provide some
of these youth services?
The SPEAKER : Sorry; that
concludes the question!

The
member may be aware that we recently announced the WA Youth Action Plan 2024–2027 for the next five years . That plan sets out everything that we are doing
to support young people across the state, and young people from across the
state contributed to that plan. We spoke to over 2 200 young people in every
single region of WA, from Fitzroy Crossing in our north to Albany in our south.
They helped us identify where those areas of need are, and that is all set out
in our youth action plan. It also sets out what we have done to date to address
those areas of need and priority for them, and what is on the cards for the
next five years.
The SPEAKER : Members, that
concludes question time.
