PERTH
CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
54. Hon SAMANTHA ROWE to the
parliamentary secretary representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the Perth Children's Hospital construction
costs. Can the Minister for Health confirm that $200 million has been added to
the project budget to cater for extra costs associated with the project,
including ICT facilities; and, if not, what is the exact amount that has been
added?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for
Health.
The additional funding for the Perth Children's
Hospital project was an anticipated requirement. The original infrastructure
business case specifically excluded the amount for ICT and organisational
change and clinical redesign—collectively now known as the PCH
transition program—until such time as the exact requirements were
known. A business case for the PCH transition program was submitted to cabinet
and approved in November 2013. The total funding for the PCH transition program
is $245.5 million.
