(1) Will the minister inform the Parliament what changes are currently taking place in the early childhood directorate at the Department of Education? (2) Will the directorate continue with its specific role of ensuring that the early childhood programs being delivered are appropriate? (3) If the early childhood directorate becomes part of the curriculum area, what guarantees do teachers and parents have of specific support for early childhood programs? (1) The curriculum resources of the Department of Education have been restructured into phases of schooling: early childhood; early adolescence, middle years and post-compulsory. The student services and Aboriginal education directorates also include services for all phases of schooling, including early childhood.
