The Local Government Advisory Board does that work.
Mr P.C. Tinley : It's
reading every one of them.
Mr A.J. SIMPSON :
Yes.
Mr P.C. Tinley :
The advisory board is reading 25 000?
The SPEAKER :
Member, you have asked a supplementary question. Minister, will you answer the
question, please.
Mr A.J. SIMPSON :
The advisory board will read them. I might add that, from my understanding of
my meeting with the advisory board, a good half of the 25 000 submissions—that
was the estimate at the time; it had not added them all up—were a tick
and flick; they were pro forma letters that were added to the list. Although
the member has said that there are 25 000 submissions, the board will not have
to read 25 000 submissions because over 12 000 of them are the same. It will go
through that process, identify the number of submissions it received on each
proposal that came back into that process and put that into a report.
