(2) In the context of (1), to date $2.44 million has been spent on securing negotiated planning solutions as the conservation component is generally secured free of cost to government. In addition, one negotiated planning solution has been resolved by a land exchange deemed to be of equal value. Negotiated outcomes try to seek a balance between conservation and development, with potential cost savings to government of up to $260 million. (3) In the context of (1), approximately 1040 hectares out of a total of 51,200 hectares in Bush Forever. (4) In the context of (1), to date an estimated 660 hectares (64% of 1040 hectares) will be protected as part Bush Forever.
