I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question. (1) There have been 99 outages lasting longer than one minute affecting customers in the Shire of Morawa since 1 October 2008 and up to 31 January 2010. Figures are not available for February to March 2010 at this stage. This number includes outages to single premises since July 2009. The following table is a distribution of outages for each month. I will seek leave to have the table incorporated into Hansard at the end of the answer. (2) These outages occurred at various places along the network that supplies customers in the shire, both inside and upstream—that is, outside—the shire’s boundaries. (3) The average number of customers that were affected per instance from October 2008 to January 2010 is approximately 39. (4) The average length of each interruption from October 2008 to January 2010 is approximately six hours and 20 minutes. (5) From October 2008 to January 2010 outages to customers in the Shire of Morawa have been attributed to strong winds; lightning; impact from external forces, including trees, flora and fauna; and equipment failures. I seek leave to have the table referred to in (1) incorporated into Hansard . Leave granted.
