I refer to recommendation three of report 12 of the Standing Committee on Estimates and Financial Operations into the Balga Works Program where it stated, ‘The Committee recommends that the Department of Education and Training investigate how it was possible for Mr Hammond in September 2004 to arrange an FTE conversion to fund the Balga Works Program at the Balga Senior High School without the support of the Minister for Education and Training and with the Director General’s reservations about the program’, and ask -
(1) Have you instructed the Department of Education and Training to investigate how it was possible for Mr Hammond in September 2004 to arrange an FTE conversion to fund the Balga Works Program at the Balga Senior High School, without the support of the Minister for Education and Training and with the Director General’s reservations about the program?
(2) If no to (1), given that the Minister for Training was a committee member who supported this recommendation, and now as the Minister has the power to implement it, why not?
(3) If yes to (1), have you received the investigation findings?
(4) Will you table them in this place at the next day’s sitting?
(5) If no to (4), why not?
