(1) The Water Corporation and Leisure Institute of WA Aquatics (LIWA) have launched the Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program to recognise aquatic and leisure centres for their commitment to saving water in their facilities. The program is free to participate and open to all centres across the State.
To participate, centres are required to develop a Water Management Plan and demonstrate minimum water efficiency measures are in place e.g. minimum rated water efficient showerheads. Centres that meet the criteria are endorsed by the Water Corporation and LIWA as a Waterwise Approved facility, provided with the Waterwise logo to promote their achievement to the community, and presented with a certificate at the Annual LIWA Conference. The Corporation assists centres to improve water management in their facilities by providing access to free Waterwise training, data logging services and general water efficiency advice as part of the program. There are no funding initiatives directly associated with this program.
(2) The Waterwise Aquatic Centre Program is administered by the Water Corporation with support from LIWA Aquatics as the industry partner. The program forms part of the suite of Waterwise Programs already administered by the Corporation.
