Leader of the House representing the Premier:
I refer to the member for North West Central's office
relocation from the Carnarvon Central shopping centre to 20 Robinson Street,
Carnarvon.
(1) For how
many months was double rent being paid for the two premises and why was double
rent being paid?
(2) What
amount was paid on rent for the 20 Robinson Street office for the period from 1
July 2013 until the date on which the member moved into the new office?
(3) Was any
rent paid on the former office at the shopping centre after the member moved
into the new office at 20 Robinson Street?
(4) If yes to (3), what was that amount?
(5) What was
the size of the alternative office at the shopping centre originally proposed
by the lessor, Charter Hall?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) For a
period of 16 months. The double rent occurred as the lease for the new premises
at 20 Robinson Street needed to be secured—commenced—prior to
any tender or approvals for fit-out works commencing. The member was required
to remain in the current premises until the new fit-out was fully completed and
available for occupancy.
(2) An amount
of $59 746.06.
(3) Yes.
(4) An amount
of $1 722.19.
(5) It was approximately 100 square metres.
