I refer to the full-page advertisement in The West Australian of Monday, 2 May 2005 regarding the goods and services taxation agreement between the commonwealth and the states. (1) How much did the advertisement cost? (2) Which advertising or marketing agency was engaged to develop the advertisement? (3) What was the contract price for the work done? It would not have been anywhere near as successful had it not been for the federal Treasurer’s promotion of it. (1) The media placement cost was $6 452.47 plus GST. (2) The agency used was Marketforce Pty Ltd, in its capacity as the Department of the Premier and Cabinet’s creative agency. (3) The production cost of the advertisement was $702.81. (4) The Department of the Premier and Cabinet initiated the development of the advertisement.
