The term “approved facility” is defined under the Health Act 1911 , section 334 (7).
The Health Act 1911 , section 334 (7) states “if at least 20 weeks of the woman’s pregnancy have been completed when the abortion is performed, the performance of the abortion is not justified unless (b) the abortion is performed in a facility approved by the Minister for the purposes of this section.” One facility in Western Australia is an “approved facility” for the purposes of section 334 (7)(b) of the Act; King Edward Memorial Hospital for Women.
