I refer to the numerous and lengthy e-mail communications from Mr Fabio Di Cianno to the Premier and the minister that were copied to all and sundry, including me. (1) Why did it take so long to abolish the telephone and Internet betting limits for bookmakers in Western Australia? (2) Is there any reason that Mr Fabio Di Cianno’s request to the Premier that the minister be sacked for inaction and incompetence should not be carried out? Hon NICK GRIFFITHS

(1) The limits have not yet been abolished. They are proposed to be abolished as at 1 July. We have carried out that process in an appropriate way, ensuring that the revenues that flow to the racing industry are not put at risk. (2) Yes. I would have thought that was fairly obvious. The gentleman - at least I think he is a gentleman; I do not know whether I have met him - to whom Hon Barry House referred based his assertions on inaccuracies.
