I thank the member for some notice of this question. (1)-(2) In January 2005, the owner of 1 Elanora Drive, Cooloongup requested that the noise wall on Ennis Avenue be extended beyond Elanora Drive to provide a barrier between his property and the railway. Following representations by the member for Peel, the government agreed that the noise wall would be extended. In February 2005, the owner of 1 Elanora Drive requested that the government resume the property because of the impact on the property of construction work for the southern suburbs railway. (3)-(4) The alignment of the railway does not require the property to be resumed. The minister has asked the Public Transport Authority of Western Australia to consider ways of minimising the impact of construction on the owner of 1 Elanora Drive. Some options are now being explored.
