I thank the honourable member for
some notice of this question.
(1) Yes; due to
poor and declining patronage as a result of the low-density passenger catchment
and changing student travel patterns.
(2) On 19 April 2015.
(3) The change
made to this particular bus route was with respect to only the timetable; that
is, there was a reduction in the frequency of services. Transperth engages in
consultation only when services are changed to operate on different roads.
(4) Yes.
(5) Transperth
makes over 1 000 similar changes to its services for similar reasons each year,
which is a normal part of monitoring its business and is not raised with the
minister.
(6) The minister
has asked Transperth to continue to monitor the bus service, and make
adjustments as required.
