Under the new partnership, Industry will directly contribute to the development of short stay accommodation to be located on the Newman Hospital site to supplement the recently completed construction of eight new hospital houses on the site. This will provide flexibility and some certainty of accommodation options for short stay staff such as nurses, regular visiting specialists particularly from the regional centre in Port Hedland and others who visit Newman on health related business and will be good quality alternative to hotel/motel accommodation that is often in demand and difficult to book.
(a) Three.
(b) Adjacent to the new houses recently completed on the Newman hospital site.
(c) This is flexible and will vary dependent upon need. The accommodation is intended for short stay staff such as nurses, visiting specialists and others who are in the business of delivering health services to the Newman community.
(d) No.
(e) The additional accommodation units will not be used to house the Newman St John Ambulance as funds have been made available through the partnership to continue the existing rental arrangements.
