RESEARCH STATIONS — SALE
265. Hon DARREN WEST to the
Minister for Agriculture and Food:
(1) Have any
former agricultural research stations been sold, or are any in the process of
being sold, as at 14 March 2015?
(2) If yes to (1), which stations
and who purchased them?
(3) Are there any plans to sell any
of the former agricultural research stations?
(4) If yes to (3), which stations
and how will they be sold?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of this
question.
(1) The
research stations sold since 1999 include Stoneville in 1999, Salmon Gums in
2001 and Wokalup in 2001. The research stations in the process of sale are
Badgingarra, part of Mt Barker, Newdegate, part of Wongan Hills and Medina.
(2) Stoneville
research station, Hillbrook Corporation Pty Ltd; Salmon Guns research station,
Minister for Education; Wokalup research station, Minister for Education.
(3) See the answer to (1).
(4) The
Department of Lands will be selling the following research stations, as they
are crown land: Badgingarra, part of Mt Barker, Newdegate, part of Wongan
Hills, and Medina.
