GOLDFIELDS ARTS CENTRE
I refer to the Kalgoorlie Miner article, “Centre in limbo”, dated 20 August. (1) Which body is currently responsible for the management of the Goldfields Arts Centre? (2) Why was the Goldfields Arts Centre not included in the transfer when Curtin University handed over the vocational education and training centre to the Department of Training and Workplace Development earlier this year? (3) Is the department considering taking over management of the Goldfields Arts Centre; and, if not, why not? (4) Have the state government and Curtin University engaged in discussions with the City of Kalgoorlie–Boulder to carry on operations of the Goldfields Arts Centre beyond the end of this year; and, if yes, what were the outcomes of the discussions? Hon PETER COLLIER
