❓ Mr. Katsambanis questions the Premier's delayed response to attending a Broome community safety forum, implying it was only addressed after negative media coverage. The Premier deflects, touting a school announcement in Hillarys and attacking the local MP.

COMMUNITY SAFETY FORUM —
BROOME
986. Mr
P.A. KATSAMBANIS to the Premier:
I have a supplementary question.
Given that the Premier and his ministers seem to be able to fly to Broome all
the time for good news announcements, why did it take such significant negative
media attention before any minister finally relented and accepted the
invitation to attend this meeting organised for next week?

Once again, from this MP, we get a ridiculous
and pathetic supplementary question.
I will tell members where I have
been recently. I went to Hillarys —
Several members interjected.
The SPEAKER : Member for
Hillarys! You cannot have it both ways.
Mr
M. McGOWAN : I announced the new
primary school there in Hillarys, with our outstanding candidate Caitlin
Collins—an educator committed to young people throughout Western Australia.
I am sure that she will do a great job in that electorate if she is
elected. I tell you what: she will be a much nicer person than the member for
Hillarys!
The SPEAKER : That is the end
of question time.
