reports that indicate about 12 workers from India arrived in WA in recent
months to work on railcars at the Bellevue facility.
(1) How many foreign workers have arrived in WA to
work at the Bellevue facility in:
(a) 2024; and
(b) 2025 to date?
(2) What work are the workers referred to in (1)
undertaking?
(3) Why were Western Australian locals unsuitable
for the work referred to in (2)?

question and provide the following answer on behalf of the Minister for
Transport.
(1)–(3) Approximately 200 people are
employed by Alstom at the Bellevue facility. The Metronet C-series railcar
program is also supporting jobs at 15 local businesses across Western Australia
supplying railcar components.
