EMERGENCY SERVICES — WEBSITE
382. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the Minister for Emergency Services:
I
refer to the New South Wales government's disaster recovery support
statistics webpage, which provides up-to-date information on disaster
recovery funding arrangements spending.
(1) Will the
minister commit to implement a similar website so that funding for disaster
recovery can be made more visible to those impacted by disasters, including
cyclone Seroja in the midwest and the recent Kimberley floods?
(2) If no to (1), why not?
(3) Can the minister please table
the most recent report on DRFA in relation to cyclone Seroja?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some
notice of the question.
(1)–(2) The
Emergency WA website provides up-to-date information on disaster recovery
payments available to affected community
members. Currently, there is recovery information relating to ex–tropical
cyclone Ellie , severe tropical cyclone Seroja and the Wooroloo bushfire.
There is currently no plan to make changes.
(3) The severe
tropical cyclone Seroja reports are the mechanism in the approved guidelines
for the approved category C or D assistance
measures. The states must reach an agreement with the commonwealth on the public
acknowledgement of commonwealth assistance, which includes reporting. As such,
the reports cannot be released without commonwealth approvals.
