WITHERS
URBAN RENEWAL
451. Hon ADELE
FARINA to the minister representing the Minister for Regional Development:
I refer to John Castrilli's media release dated 15 January
2013 announcing a $1.5 million funding contribution from the South West
Development Commission for initial works for the Withers revitalisation, of
which $300 000 would be made available to immediately improve parks and
playground areas in Withers.
(1) Has a
decision been made on how the $300 000 will be spent; and, if yes, list the
projects to be undertaken and the funding for each project?
(2) Is the funding currently available; and, if yes, when
will works commence?
(3) If no to (2), what is the delay in making the funding
available?
(4) Does the
minister agree that the whole of the $300 000 is to be spent on improving parks
and playground areas in Withers?

AnswerView source ↗

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question.
(1) Yes. An

television coverage of Withers library, $30 000; and the installation of two
bus stop shelters and dual use pathways to assist in connecting related
parkland development with the aim of improving access and mobility, $125 000.
(2) Yes. Initial park works are expected to commence by 3
September 2013.
(3) Not applicable.
(4) The funding will be spent as above.
