BUSH FIRE BRIGADES — APPLIANCES
785. Hon DARREN WEST to the
Attorney General representing the Minister for Emergency Services:
I mention that I am a former student at the University of
Minnesota, and spent a wonderful year at that institution.
(1) How many
so-called ''fast attack'' vehicles for bush fire brigades have
been replaced with medium rigid vehicles in the last 12 months?
(2) How many more are due to be replaced in the next 12
months?
(3) What is the reason for replacement?
(4) Will the
Department of Fire and Emergency Services meet the costs associated with
volunteers having to obtain a B class licence to drive these replacement
vehicles; and, if not, why not?
