350. Hon LJILJANNA RAVLICH to
the minister representing the Minister for Planning:
(1) Can the
Minister for Planning confirm that there are a number heritage properties
earmarked to be affected when widening of Stirling Highway occurs?
(2) If yes to
(1), can the minister please list the earmarked properties?
(3) If no to
(1), will the Minister for Planning give assurances that any widening of
Stirling Highway will not adversely impact on any property on the state
heritage register?

(1) Yes, there
are approximately 74 heritage properties currently affected by the existing
reservation that has been in place since the l960s. The Western Australian
Planning Commission anticipates that the proposed metropolitan region scheme
amendment for Stirling Highway may reduce this number of affected properties to
approximately 53. Of these properties some are affected by the land only, with
the buildings being retained, and others are affected by land and buildings.
(2) I seek leave
to have the attached information incorporated into Hansard .
