1185. Hon Dr STEVE THOMAS to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the ''onerous
contracts'' referenced on page 9 of Synergy's annual report 2022–23.
(1) How many onerous contracts are
being referred to?
(2) How many of the onerous contracts
relate to the purchase of —
(a) coal; and
(b) gas?
(3) What are the
onerous contracts identified under question (2), and what is the value of each
contract?
(4) How many of
the onerous contracts relate to the purchase or construction of renewable
energy assets or storage assets?
(5) What are the onerous contracts
identified under question (4), and what is the value of each contract?

onerous contracts relate to existing fuel and commodity supply agreements and
electricity sale contracts. The details of these agreements are
commercial-in-confidence.
