(a) For LandCorp projects, local families who wish to purchase land in Port or South Hedland are able to access LandCorp's website for land release information.  Interested parties are able to register their details to join LandCorp's mailing list.
For private developments, a range of marketing strategies will be applied and contact should be made with the individual private developers for information.
This request should also be directed to the Minister for Housing.
(b) The Member's question is not understood.
(c) In regard to single residential lots for purchase by local residents or small businesses, agencies within the Lands Portfolio no longer release land through a ballot process. Allocation of these lots to the open market within land development projects by agencies within the Lands Portfolio are now undertaken through a registration of interest process. Applications will be assessed independently with priority given to local residents or small businesses, and on the basis of need.
This request should also be directed to the Minister for Housing.
(d) Prior to land becoming available, agencies within the Lands Portfolio develop a marketing strategy which provides interested parties with information, allowing them an opportunity to position themselves appropriately to purchase land.
This request should also be directed to the Minister for Housing.
(e) The Royalties for Regions Pilbara Cities program is investing $1.2 billion to create Karratha and Port Hedland into cities of 50 000. This program has funded the preparation of the
Pilbara Port City Growth Plan
which is the Council's endorsed planning strategy for the Town of Port Hedland.  This
Plan
identifies land capable of taking the town to city status and its 50 000 population target.  Over the past three years significant land has been brought into the development pipeline, and land for over 6 500 homes is expected to become available in the next five years through a number of major land development projects including LandCorp's Western Edge and Department of Housing's Osprey and Hamilton residential subdivisions in South Hedland.  In addition, the $77 million Royalties for Regions funded redevelopment of the South Hedland Central Business District will provide an increased range of housing types as well as retail and employment opportunities.
(f) Significant Crown land has been brought into the land development pipeline over the past three years to ensure a ready supply of residential land is available. The Department of Regional Development and Lands releases Crown land to public and private property developers with the experience and financial backing to bring land and housing to the market. One example of the Government's commitment is LandCorp's Western Edge project in South Hedland which is expected to deliver some 2 300 dwellings, be home to more than 5 000 people and have the first lots available in 2015.
This request should also be directed to the Minister for Housing.
